Maraga ((アゼルバイジャン語:Marağa), or Maragha) is a village in the Tartar Rayon of Azerbaijan. On April 10, 1992, during the Nagorno-Karabakh war, Maraga was the scene of a massacre of ethnic Armenians by Azerbaijani forces,〔De Waal, Thomas. ''Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan Through Peace and War''. New York: New York University Press, 2003, p. 176.〕 as retaliation for the Khojaly Massacre widely believed to be committed by Armenian forces less than two months earlier.
